NHS 111 is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Calls are free from landlines and mobile phones.
When to use it:
- You should use the NHS 111 service if you urgently need medical help or advice but it’s not a life-threatening situation.
Call 111 if:
- you need medical help fast but it’s not a 999 emergency
- you think you need to go to A&E or need another NHS urgent care service
- you don’t know who to call or you don’t have a GP to call
- you need health information or reassurance about what to do next
If a health professional has given you a specific phone number to call when you are concerned about your condition, continue to use that number.
For immediate, life-threatening emergencies, continue to call 999.

Evening and Weekend Opening
Evening Surgeries are held at our Grovebury Road Site. Weekend Surgeries are held at our Leighton Road Site.
To allow those who find it difficult to attend the surgery during usual opening hours the surgery now opens late one evening every week and one Saturday every 4 weeks.
The late evening surgery is open 6.30pm – 8.30pm on Tuesday/ and on Saturday mornings the surgery is open 8.00am – 2.00pm.
Please note that during the extended evening and weekend opening telephone lines to the surgery are not available.
We offer routine appointments (both face to face and telephone consultations) during these times. These are mainly doctor only appointments, however our Healthcare Assistant offers appointments between 5.30pm – 7.30pm for hypertension checks, non-fasting bloods, NHS Health Checks (by invitation), spirometry, removal of stitches and ECGs.
Please only ask for these appointments if you cannot attend during usual hours.
To book appointments contact the surgery in the usual way.
GP Extended Access Service
Appointments with a GP or Practice Nurse are now available on some evenings and every weekend (Saturday and Sunday) for patients registered at this practice, these are called ‘Extended Access’ appointments.
When you call to make an appointment we may offer you an ‘Extended Access’ appointment, this appointment will currently be held at our Leighton Road site and may be with a GP or Practice Nurse from another practice. Our reception team will confirm all of the details at the time of booking and if you are registered to receive text message alerts, you will receive a text message to confirm the date, time and location of your appointment.
At the current time, Extended Access appointments are not available to book online.
